Who we are

ClearFigures (clearfigures.co.uk) provides free online calculators for UK freelancers, contractors and small business owners. The site is operated as a sole trader business based in the United Kingdom.

What data we collect and why

Our calculators

All calculations performed on ClearFigures are done entirely within your browser. No calculation inputs or results are sent to our servers or stored anywhere. We never see the numbers you enter.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site. This collects anonymous usage data including pages visited, time spent on pages, your approximate location (country and city level), device type and browser, and how you arrived at the site.

This data is collected via cookies set by Google. We use this information solely to improve the site. Google Analytics data is processed by Google LLC under their privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Cookies

We use one category of cookies:

Analytics cookies (Google Analytics)

These are set by Google Analytics to distinguish visitors and track usage patterns. They do not contain personally identifiable information.

Our calculator tools do not set any cookies. We use localStorage (browser storage) solely to remember your tax year preference between visits. This data never leaves your device.

Third party and affiliate links

This site contains links to third party services including accounting software providers. Some of these are affiliate links — if you click through and purchase a product, we may receive a commission at no extra cost to you. We only recommend services we believe are genuinely useful to our audience.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third party sites.

Advertising

This site displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at adssettings.google.com.

Your rights (UK GDPR)

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request correction or deletion of your data, object to processing of your data, and lodge a complaint with the ICO at ico.org.uk.

To exercise any of these rights or ask questions about this policy, contact us at: [email protected]

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
